Digital Imaging and Multimedia Year 1 Student Showcase –
Junior student, Nicole, shares a recent Adobe Photoshop 2022 class project!
Project Goal: Create a composite image blending photographs.
Students were provided five image files to use features from each to create a blended scene. Students were to incorporate environment elements, such as the mountains, sky, and beach. Students learned to use brushes of varying sizes to create accurate layer masks, rasterize layers, use a variety of keyboard shortcuts to improve their workflow, and to use advanced options in adjustment layers to modify specific colors in an image.
The completed, blended beach scene is featured in the top right of the collage. Nice work!
Digital Imaging and Multimedia 1 is open to students in grades 9-12. The course also fulfills a Fine Art graduation credit.

Digital Imaging and Multimedia Year 1 Student Showcase –
Freshman student, Italy, shares a recent Adobe Photoshop 2022 class project!
Project Goal: Restore a damaged photograph.
Students were provided with the black and white ballerina image file in the top right. The image was purposely shared with students on a rotation to first practice straightening and cropping an image. Students learned to create and organize layers, set blending mode and opacity, use Crop, Spot Healing, and Clone Stamp tools, use the Type tool and set basic character and paragraph settings, and to Save for Web and Export files.
Clockwise, the collaged image shows the project’s progression. Students were able to add colors of their choice. The final project, including text, is showcased on the left. Well done!
Digital Imaging and Multimedia 1 is open to students in grades 9-12. The course also fulfills a Fine Art graduation credit.
