The Bags of Care donation drive sponsored by Grafton High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is an overwhelming success! Over 1,000 items were collected from new or lightly used bookbags, duffle bags, suitcases, hygiene products, and under garments. FBLA shares their sincere appreciation to GHS families, homerooms, and administration, Taylor County Middle School, and West Taylor Elementary for their participation. Local churches and community organizations, such as the Grafton Rotary, also donated funds and products. Thank you to Braydon McCullough, GHS FBLA President and Project Organizer, Jennifer Eskridge, GHS Communities In School Site Coordinator (CIS), and Mendy Shaffer, GHS Family Resource Facilitator. Mrs. Bartlett’s library students read to elementary students last week for Read Across America Week. It was an awesome chance for them to practice their public speaking skills: volume, pace, poise, inflection, enunciation, pronunciation, and visual aids. They also sent treats and activities to the students to reinforce the reading experience. They haven't been able to participate for 3 years now, so it was great to get back into the celebration.
