Update to threat: Taylor County Schools has been in contact with Taylor County Schools in Kentucky and learned the threat is not related to them but a social media post spreading nationwide. Authorities there continue to work on locating the person who began this earlier in the week.
Taylor County Schools was alerted to a possible threat involving a weapon and TCMS. The Sheriff’s Department investigated and determined it was meant for a school in Taylor County Kentucky. We appreciate those who shared the message and the diligence of the Sheriff’s department and the support they will provide at TCMS today.
Taylor County Schools, North Central Headstart, and Little Feet Daycare are hosting Child Find on Thursday, May 11th and Friday, May 12th at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Students entering PreK for the 2023-24 school year should attend Child Find. If you have enrolled but do not have an appointment, please call Shannon Blue at 304.265.2497 x1173. If you have not enrolled your child for the 2023-24 PreK, please call Shannon Blue at the above number. She will set up appointments for you and your child. We will have enrollment papers on-site. Also, please bring the required documentation: Birth certificate, Social Security card, Shot/Immunization records, Dental exam, and Physical/Well-Child exam.

Taylor County Schools will have a Non-Traditional Instructional Day (NTID) tomorrow, Friday, April 21 due to transportation issues. Staff are to report on a 2 hour delay.

Upon visiting any Taylor County School, guests are required to enter a secure area for further identification before being granted any access to the interior part of the school building.
