✈️From Chuck Peters(Pierpont Aviation Center):
I just wanted to let you know that we received the Taylor county kids thank you letters. Those were awesome and they were honestly the most behaved and engaged middle school group we had here all summer. My director would tell you that himself. I’m glad they had a good time.
😊Proud of our TCMS summer school students!! 😊
We want to thank Church of the Good Shepard's Book Ministry for stopping by yesterday. They donated a book to each student and spent some time reading with them! Readers Make Leaders!!
Tents, tie-dye, and Tygart Adventures! We had a great week.
If your child is attending Summer School, please remember to join our "Room" to get information daily about the Summer School Program. Your child should have brought home information on how to join!
✈️Day 2 at Pierpont Aviation Center! Another great day for our summer school students. Students got to see if their planes they made would fly, fly a plane in an airplane simulator program(we had a few crashes😂), and start a jet engine. ✈️
😊Thank you to Pierpont Aviation Center and staff for having our TCMS summer school students!! What a great experience!😊
Yesterday, some of our students took a walking tour around Grafton. We want to thank the Grafton Police Department, Grafton Fire Department, Gallery 62 West, and the Grafton Post Office for their hospitality!
The theme this week is careers and the 3rd and 4th grade students worked on their measurement conversions to bake some delicious muffins!
Elementary Summer School Students: Remember to send in field trip permission forms with your child if one is not on file at school. 3rd and 4th graders have a Pool Trip tomorrow- Swim suits and towels are needed.
Elementary Summer School is excited to see you next Wednesday, 7/5! If you have not received a call from a bus driver about your child’s pick up and drop off stop, please contact the Bus Garage/Todd Bolyard at 304-265-0518

Taylor County Board Office Summer Hours
We are blessed to have a nation of brave men and women who have sacrificed greatly for our country. Today, our great nation celebrates and commemorates their memory on Memorial Day in honor of their courage and service.
A message from GHS Spanish Teacher, Sra. Skaggs:
Last Tuesday the board recognized the Spanish students for their proficiency. I didn’t speak then, but I wanted to follow up with a message about how proud I am of my students.
They have always done their best in my classes, and I am impressed every day at how excited and willing they are to learn the Spanish language and culture. They have illustrated their dedication through the results of the WV Seal of Biliteracy, the Global Seal, and the National Spanish Exam. Our students can perform academically at different state and National levels in Spanish, and they can use their language skills to show the Hispanic language and culture to our community. Last week, we went to all 3 Elementary Schools in Taylor County where the students acted out the Three Little Pigs and The Hare and The Tortoise and Sang un Poquito Loco from the movie Coco in Spanish. They also performed a modern dance and 2 folkloric dances from Colombia and from Mexico. They did an excellent job in their performances.
Muchas gracias/thank you to my students, their parents, Mrs. Shumaker, GHS Staff, the Board of Education, the Grafton Rotary Club, and the community, who all make it possible to have such a great Spanish program at GHS.
I am blessed to be able to teach the students from Grafton. Estudiantes, los amo.
