Dear Families and Students,
Today at Grafton High School a threat was received from a phone number outside of our area. The caller described a person that was armed with a gun outside the school. Law enforcement was immediately called and the school put into lock down. Grafton City Police, Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, and the West Virginia State Police assisted in ensuring all students and staff were safe and no active threat was found. We also reached out to the WV Fusion Center that assists with tracing calls and further investigating incidents of this nature. There is not threat to our students or staff. Any further updates will be communicated to our school community.
We remain committed to all of our students and staff safety thanking law enforcement and the administrative staff at Grafton High School for their quick actions today.
Christy Miller, Superintendent
