On December 30, 2021, the West Virginia Department of Education released the following guidance in response to lessons learned with COVID 19. The new guidance can be found at this link:

Due to changes in quarantines, Taylor County Schools will return with the following protocols:
- Masks will be worn at all times inside Taylor County Schools facilities until January 19, 2022 reassessing prior to this date
- 5-day isolation for positive students and staff
- Identified close contacts that are not fully vaccinated must still quarantine for 5 days
- Those affected by positive cases will be notified during the day by Taylor County schools, evenings and weekends by the Grafton Taylor Health Department
