During a recent Special Board meeting of the Taylor County Board of Education on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, a change in leadership occurred. At that time, the now previous Board President, Mr. Clark Sinclair, announced that he had decided to discontinue his role as the Board President and allow another of his fellow members assume those responsibilities.
Subsequently, an election of Mr. Sinclair’s replacement as President of the Board resulted in Mr. John Taylor being elected by his Board member counterparts. As a result of Mr. Taylor’s election to the President position, his now vacant, previously held, seat as Vice-President was needing to be filled. This followed with a second nomination and voting process to determine who would assume that role. As a result, Mrs. Melissa Knotts was elected to serve the Board as its Vice-President.
Following both elections, both Mr. Taylor and Mrs. Knotts were sworn in by the honorable Judge Shawn Nines.
